Prof. Dr. Shoji Shiba

Chief Advisor

Prof. Dr. Shoji Shiba is Chief Advisor of A-PROCS Board. Dr. Shoji Shiba is an international expert in Total Quality Management (TQM) and Breakthrough Management. Globally known for developing the "Five Step Discovery Process" for Breakthrough Management. In the recent years he has been guiding the transformation of the Indian manufacturing industry.
A Deming Prize winner in an individual capacity for propagating TQM amongst corporates and governments. Prof. Shiba is Professor Emeritus of University of Tsukuba in Japan, Advisory Professor, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and Distinguished Honorary Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. From 1990 to 2004, he taught at the Sloan School of Management, MIT.

James R. Beatty, PhD

Dr. Beatty is an expert in Statistics, Lean Six Sigma, Human Capital Strategies and Management, and Total Quality Management (TQM). He founded the FACTS Philosophy (Fairness, Accountability, Credibility, Transparency, with Systematic Approaches). He authored Business Analytics and Statistical Methods (2015), Compensation: A Practitioner’s Approach (2017), other books, articles, and papers. He is a certified ASQ Senior Member, certified Preliminary Judge for ITEA, lifetime certified CCP, lifetime certified SPHR, certified National Quality Master Examiner for AHCA, and a 12-time Baldrige National Examiner. He holds a PhD in both statistics and in psychology, is a recognized Senate Distinguished Professor, Emeritus, at San Diego State University, and has taught for Rutgers, UC-Berkeley, the University of Texas-Dallas, University of California San Diego (UCSD), and elsewhere, including the U.S., Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Peru, Brasil, Colombia, Canada, and elsewhere.
